If you’re tired of hearing about how 2016 is the Year of the Vegan, then you’re going to have to get over it, because 2016 is definitely the Year of the Vegan. With Easter upon us, and the holiday being celebrated tomorrow, some fascinating and encouraging data has been released by Google in regards to vegan treats for our Easter baskets.

According to The Guardian, “Search interest in ‘personalized’, ‘giant’, ‘dark chocolate’ and ‘vegan’ Easter eggs is at its highest level ever according to figures provided by Google Trends. The fastest growing of these queries is ‘vegan’, which has seen its search traffic more than double on last year’s Easter week. Although the obvious choice for those not consuming animal produce at this time of year is a dark egg, there are some other varieties available on the market including some white chocolate ones,” The Guardian reported, continuing on this the baffling figure that “one in 50 searches are for vegan Easter eggs, which actually makes them a more popular search query than dark chocolate ones (one in 100).”

Don’t believe your eyes? I didn’t either, so go have some fun on Google Trends and relish in the fact that veganism is set for worldwide domination. To those who celebrate, have a very Happy Easter. I can’t wait to get my hands on all the discounted vegan candy on Monday!
