Morrissey was scheduled to perform in Iceland, but cancelled the concert after the Harpa concert hall in Reykjavik refused to meet his vegetarian demands.
The vegan former Smiths’ front man doesn’t even speak to meat-eaters so when the concert hall said it wouldn’t stop selling meat on the day of his performance, his cancellation wasn’t exactly a surprise.
“I love Iceland and I have waited a long time to return,” he told the True To You fan site. “But I shall leave the Harpa Concert Hall to their cannibalistic flesh-eating bloodlust.”
Morrissey has cancelled concerts over the same issue before. His song ‘Meat is Murder’ has shocked audiences during his live shows as he played images of slaughterhouses behind him on the screen.
Come on, Iceland, have you seen the shirt the man sells on his merch shop? You’re lucky you got away with a cancellation.
