She doesn’t have a “Problem” with eating only veggies. Pop singer Ariana Grande is once again promoting the benefits of a vegan diet.
The “Break Free” singer tells the Daily Mirror that she didn’t have a hard time breaking free from her Italian background of eating meat and cheese.
“I don’t eat a lot of Italian things, because I’m vegan,” she said. “I was raised on meat and cheese, so I’ve had enough for anyone’s normal life span.”
When asked why she switched over to a vegan diet, Grande said: “I love animals more than I love most people, not kidding. But I am a firm believer in eating a full plant-based, whole food diet that can expand your life length and make you an all-round happier person.”
Although she does admit eating out can be “tricky,” she says that “I just stick to what I know – veggies, fruit and salad – then when I get home I’ll have something else.”
The former Nickelodeon star switched to a vegan diet just over a year ago, and has been quite vocal about the consumption of animal products since then. In an interview with V Magazine earlier this year, she bluntly said, “Look, cows produce milk with nutrients for cows. Maybe that’s why Americans end up looking like cows!” Adding,“[u]ltimately, no one wants cow tit pus in their food, do they?”
Certainly not, and Grande’s support for animals doesn’t stop there. Just this past summer, Grande was one of the many celebs who spoke out against the horribleness that is SeaWorld in wake of “Blackfish.”
“I thought the animals were safe and happy. Then I learned what happened — that they’re taken out of their habitat and kidnapped,” she said. “It breaks my heart. They’re not ours. Yo, bitch — throw them back!”
Keep spreading the good word on animal rights and veganism, Ariana! We love how open you are.
