Mercy For Animals celebrated The Art of Compassion in New York City on November 5, 2014. This art auction, curated by Nick Lawrence, featured original artwork from more than 85 artists, including Jo-Anne McArthur, Al Jackson, Jane O’Hara, Jackson Thilenius, Moby, Molly Rausch, and William Wegman.

Held at the Freight+Volume gallery in Chelsea, this inspiring event brought together hundreds of animal lovers and art connoisseurs to celebrate compassion. Attendees sipped Vegan Vine wine and dined on delicious hors d’oeuvres from Gardein, Jay Astafa, and Treeline, followed by decadent desserts from Vegan Treats.

Guests included Jane Velez-Mitchell and Orange Is the New Black’s Kate Mulgrew, whose son, Alec Egan, donated a piece to the auction. Take a look at all the action, courtesy of Jane, who put together this video as part of her new show, Jane Unchained.

All proceeds from the event benefit MFA’s lifesaving work on behalf of farmed animals. If you weren’t able to attend but would still like to support our work, please consider making a tax-deductible donation today.
